I spent 20 years in the Navy and was only permanently stationed on one ship. However, I was aboard 3 aircraft carriers, 2 cruisers, 1 destroyer, 1 command and control ship (3 separate times), 1 supply ship, 1 submarine and 2 aircraft squadrons.
During those years I lived in Scotland and Spain and routinely worked in England, Iceland, Italy, Germany, and Greece. I've lost track of all the places I've visited. So... with all that travel and all that great European food in my life and having been the oldest of 4 boys where I was taught to cook at a very young age, it only took me until I was 37 before I started cooking professionally.
